Beaches

Allerthorpe is the perfect location to explore the northeasterly coast line. Choose from a traditional seaside town like Bridlington, dog friendly bays like Cayton or geographical landmarks such as Flamborough head. Whatever type of UK beach you like, you can find one here.

Bridlington

In the east riding of Yorkshire you will find the vibrant town of Bridlington. Bursting with amusements and eateries, Bridlington is the perfect fun family day out. You won't struggle to find fish & chips in this traditional resort, before having a walk down the Promenade and admiring the sandy beaches.

For a slightly unconventional sea side visit, we recommend checking out the Old Town for a leisurely stroll before heading back to relax at Allerthorpe Golf & Park Retreat

Flamborough Head

An outdoor lover's paradise, Flamborough head is debatably one of the prettiest spots on the Yorkshire coastline. Boasting a stretch of rugged white cliffs, this is the perfect spot for bird watching or simply watching the world go by.

From both North and South landing, get a bit more active by exploring the sea caves or go rock pooling. If you have time on your way home, why not visit the RSPB Bempton Cliffs, home to over 200,000 seabirds including Puffins.

Whitby

Home to ancient vampire legends, Whitby is swimming with culture. Perfect for learning some local Gothic history, browsing the shops for Whitby rock or taking a walk, Whitby is a great day out for families, couples or solo travellers alike.

The haunting Whitby Abbey, inspiration to the Gothic tale 'Dracula', should be on your must-do list of Whitby. Founded in about 657, Whitby Abbey is one of North Yorkshire's most celebrated sights and also offers the best views across Whitby.

Whitby is celebrated for having the best fish and chips, with people coming from far afield to try these award winning favourites.

Hunmanby Gap

A real hidden gem, Hunmanby gap is the perfect beach to visit if you're just wanting to escape the hustle and bustle for a few hours. With miles of unspoilt coastline, you can walk in real peace whilst listening to the sounds of the ocean.

Hunmanby Gap is also home to no restrictive beach rules! Dogs are allowed to run free all year round, so why not take your dog rock pooling or swimming? You can also treat yourself to a beach barbecue whilst watching the sunset, just watch out for those tide times!
